Cut Away

I have wanted to create this image for the last three months. I ordered the dresses back in March and have been patiently waiting for the right moment to put all the pieces together. With the help of fellow photographer, Anna Mauth as the model, (and videographer Katlyn Atkinson capturing behind the scenes footage) I was able to bring it to life.

To create this image I placed my camera on a tripod and had one model stand in different places with either the black or red dress. In the end I had 5 images that I composited together. I chose to use this method for the image over having several models because I wanted each person in the image to be around the same shape and size. Having all 5 models look the same adds to the narrative I was going for.
